As one of more than 50 local groups, BSA Troop 800 and Cub Scout Pack 800 from Bethel Baptist Church in Midlothian, VA, were invited to give the community an in-person look at what Scouting has to offer.

2015 WCVE Explore The Outdoors

WCVE's Explore The Outdoors is an event co-sponsored by The Community Idea Stations, Science Matters and Ready to Learn and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation with the intent of providing the community an introduction to available outdoor opportunities in our area for people of all ages to participate in.

BSA Troop 800 had numerous displays and interactive exhibits onsite including:

The two exhibits which garnered the most attention by far were the camp cooking exhibit, where guests were given the opportunity to sample freshly made fruit cobblers and the tomahawk throwing station, where anyone who could pick up a tomahawk was given the opportunity to throw.  Even when the rain came, guests continued to line up waiting for an opportunity to throw.
